Karma. No, go with me here. Theoretically (and I am a militant atheist, so I don’t believe in this line of thinking much), karma follows the belief system that harm (or goodness) follows a cycle. What you put out toward others comes back toward you. Christians call it the Golden Rule. Do Onto Others… Technically, there are 12 rules to Karma. Always rules. Part of why I got out of the whole religion deal. Rules. So many of them, and no one *follows* them. At least not consistently. Oh, they LOVE pointing out when you don’t follow a rule. Were you 2% short on your tithe? Naughty… (don’t look too close, they’re cheating on their wife…).

Anyway, it kinda seems to me that for awhile we ebb and flow, politically. Until the last three presidential elections. We kinda did the “meh, we gained some seats, lost some seats” depending which side of the political divide you sat on, blue v. red, and it wasn’t really A THING, because the major issues weren’t a problem. Going forward was a bit of a struggle, as things are, especially in the southeast for more liberal causes, but we never went flat out BACKWARDS.

Then we lost Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She was the most vocal supporter of women’s rights, hell, human rights, equality in general. Appointed by President Carter, I think. Affectionately called Notorious R.B.G. she had quotes that were short but striking. Personally, between her and Maya Angelou, they could have a lock on most of my favorite quotes on any given day. When we lost R.G.B. Trump had the opportunity to install another justice on the supreme court, bringing his total cronies up to 6 Republicans out of 9. He figured that  Amy Coney Barrett would vote whichever way that he wanted since he basically bought her place. He has found since his second term started that that isn’t necessarily true.

Trump has some idea that Executive Order means “Hey, I get to take this sharpie and write out whatever comes into my mental midget brain and I can skip the whole legislative branch entirely. I’mma have me a fun stack of like 3 billion of these ready for my first day.” That isn’t how Executive Orders work. They’re meant to be temporary, with the theory that they could become permanent (under a law but like this is a placeholder to help people, until that law passes for example). This absolute gibbon has decided that his shiny new sharpie can [checks notes] reclassify gender via sex characteristics at birth using terms like ‘big cell’ and ‘small cell’ which using his terminology in the Executive Order makes everyone a girl/woman. (No, seriously. It does. Because males don’t even make sperm until puberty, and furthermore, all zygotes are female until about 6-7 weeks in utero.) So in his effort to make two genders, and only two genders, to alienate the Transgender folks, he made one gender, and made himself transgender (he does not deserve a capital). I am not sure which is stronger, Irony or Stupidity.

Bringing the topic back to karma, is Trump the answer to like EVERYONE’s negative karma? Like, at once? He took his first days in office second time around working tirelessly to strip LGBT+ individuals of basic human rights. Bathroom rights. He’s aiming to knock down gay marriage next, and that is as obvious as all hell.

He screams about foreign people wrecking America (which America? Technically we are only a piece of one of three… and there’s a United States of Mexico) yet two of three of his wives were foreign born and not citizens when he married them. His sidekick Elon is from South Africa and is practically running everything, including stealing money straight out of New York’s Treasury. His Mass Deportation law is written in such a way that his own son and wife would have been deported. As for the elder set of kids, I have no idea, probably them too. He does not seem to understand that our country is built on the backs of immigrants. Slaves, explorers, legal, undocumented, migrant workers, it matters not. Who built the railroads? Who picks the food in the fields that we eat? Who cleans the houses of the rich? Who takes care of our elderly when we shove them in homes? It’s the Irish, the Mexicans, the Polish, the East Asians, the Jamaicans and Caribbean Islanders. When Trump deports all these people who do all this work under the table, for so much less than we would do it, what then? He is systematically taking away all the governmental programs that insist we HAVE money for SSI/SSDI and SSA. Great Aunt Beulah is just going to work until she literally drops in the street from exhaustion. But there will be no doctor to see her – The Department of Education has been canceled, and the guy running the Department of Health has worms in his brain and thinks vaccines cause autism.

Somehow people thought this guy was better than Kamala. I am still not sure how. Or why. Is it still the woman thing? Or that she was Black? Or Indian? Or married to a Jew? Or that she was Vice-President “and didn’t do anything?” There isn’t much Vice-Presidents can do about certain things. I really don’t have a clue why more people didn’t vote for her. Or rather why so many did vote for the crazy dude with the toddler vocabulary.

My cat is now laying on the keyboard and has made it CLEAR that typing time is OVER and naptime is starting now. So, Harley wins.
